The Prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind. The old beggar woman offered him a single red rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. The Prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away.

But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, For beauty is found within. She melted away to become a beautiful Enchantress.

He tried to apologize, but it was too late. She had seen that there was no love in his heart. Enchantress looked beautiful.

As punishment she transformed the prince into a hideous horned beast. She place the powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. The beast concealed himself inside the castle.

The beast has a magic mirror that was his only window to the outside world. The rose was an truly enchanted rose. The spell would be broken.
